The Experience Experts, Keith Prowse – Official Hospitality Partner of The Championships, Wimbledon – have worked in-collaboration with The All England Lawn Tennis Club and world-renowned Michelin Star Chef, Michel Roux, to launch ‘Le Gavroche at The Lawn’; an exceptionally exclusive space within the already multi-award winning facility, The Lawn.
With Mayfair’s iconic Le Gavroche restaurant having closed its doors in January of this year, ‘Le Gavroche at The Lawn’ will offer guests the ultra-premium opportunity to experience an exquisite tasting menu showcasing exactly what made this dining experience – the very first to be awarded a Michelin Star in the UK – so very special. These signature dishes will be perfectly paired with outstanding, hand-selected wines – all of this, embellished with the famous Le Gavroche Cheese Trolley, Assiette du Chef and a complimentary bar including premium spirits, bespoke cocktails and vintage champagne.
The space itself will emulate that of its Mayfair predecessor with select SW19 styling; a private balcony, a glass wine wall frontage and a curated, intimate space with tables for 2, 4 or 6 guests – with finer details featuring original and historic artwork and artefacts from both Le Gavroche and the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum’s archives.
With official now over 90% sold out, this represents the final opportunity for guests to guarantee their place on the world-famous Centre Court – subject to availability – at the world’s oldest Grand Slam and tennis event which will take place from Monday 1 – Sunday 14 July 2024.
Andy Vinsen, Managing Director of Keith Prowse, commented:
We are very excited to bring the ‘menu exceptionnel’ of Le Gavroche to the iconic SW19 this summer, and for years to come. In line with a core pillar of ‘never being satisfied’, we love what we do and challenge ourselves every day to do it better. We continually innovate and are delighted that this will add to what is already a highly valued and award-winning range of experiences at The Championships, Wimbledon.
Chef Michel Roux commented:
When we announced the closure of the restaurant, we said that the Le Gavroche name will live on, and this will be a Wimbledon experience to remember. It’s not just a chance to enjoy an iconic Le Gavroche menu, but also to be surrounded with some of the memorabilia that made Le Gavroche a welcoming and beautiful place to enjoy for so many years.
Usama Al-Qassab, Marketing and Commercial Director at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, added:
We are delighted to welcome Michel Roux and ‘Le Gavroche at The Lawn’ to The Championships 2024. Working closely with our Official Hospitality Partner, Keith Prowse, our ambition is to provide guests with a range of fine dining experiences at Wimbledon, and we are confident the addition of this exceptional menu from ‘Le Gavroche at The Lawn’ will be warmly welcomed.
About The Championships, Wimbledon
The Championships, Wimbledon, is the oldest of the four tennis Grand Slams and the only one played on grass. Managed by The All England Lawn Tennis Club and staged on the Club’s Grounds, Wimbledon has evolved from its origins as a private members’ croquet club in 1868, to one of the world’s biggest annual sporting events and one of the most well-respected brands in sport.
About Le Gavroche
Le Gavroche opened in 1967 under the auspices of the legendary Roux brothers, the late Albert Roux OBE and Michel Roux OBE.
Known as “the last bastion in London of classically rich French haute cuisine” Le Gavroche has become a London institution, internationally recognised for its culinary excellence and unparalleled attention to detail. It was the first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin Stars, and was the first Michelin-rated restaurant to offer a set-price lunch. Honours awarded to the restaurant span from inclusion in various World’s 50 Best lists to Tatler Restaurant Awards – Most Consistently Excellent Restaurant, and a Lifetime Achievement Award for its Chef Patron, Michel Roux Jr.
When it opened over 50 years ago, London’s dining scene was almost non-existent on a global scale. Today, London is an industry leader, a melting pot of culinary talents and international gastronomy – influenced in no small part by Le Gavroche, which has encouraged discerning dining and attracted internationally renowned chefs to its kitchen.
