Host venue
Aston Villa Football Club is an English Premier League club based in Birmingham, UK. The club, established in 1874, have played their games at Villa Park, their home since 1897. Villa is one of the founder members of the Football League (1888) and later the Premier League (1992).
Villa Park has hosted World Cup and European Championship football, it has staged more FA Cup semi-finals than any other venue, England have played there 11 times over the course of three different centuries, it was the stadium where the last-ever UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final took place.
A new era for Villa Park
Villa Park is home to a rich heritage and unique atmosphere that the Club wants to celebrate, expand and enhance.
The redevelopment of Villa Park will not only benefit Aston Villa fans and players but also make a difference beyond the stadium grounds. To do this, the Club are developing a wider masterplan for Aston in collaboration with Birmingham City Council and the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Aston Villa have developed a series of aspirations that underpin this new era for Villa Park, demonstrating what is important to the club, fans, and the local community.
These aspirations are:
- A stadium that is for more than just football
- A catalyst for local regeneration
- An integrated destination for the Midlands
- A dynamic public area for the community
- Inspiring a new generation of football fans
Aston Villa wanted to redevelop Villa Park and its wider site to become a best-in-class football stadium, enhancing the fan experience and optimising revenue.
The Club were granted planning approval from Birmingham City Council in December 2022 for phase one of the redevelopment and expansion of Villa Park – to create a world-class sports and entertainment venue and a thriving community hub.
The bold regeneration project is set to build on the Club’s 150-year heritage, while also creating the fan experience zone of the future.
Expected to go live at Christmas 2025, the new project includes the launch of The Warehouse, a new multi-use venue set to become a centrepiece of the matchday experience and a hub for year-round entertainment, along with a new ticketing office, improved plaza in the North Grounds, and expanded footprint of the club shop.
Admission to The Warehouse will be free for ticketed supporters on matchdays, when the venue becomes the largest beer hall in the Premier League – a vibrant space to connect, enjoy a pint, and soak in pre-match excitement with state-of-the-art LED lights and flat-screen TVs.
Beyond matchdays, The Warehouse will transform into the Midlands’ premier concert venue and event space. The 3,500-seater venue will host world-class performances, from live music and sporting events to community activities, creating a versatile space for audiences of all kinds.

In Spring 2024, 20.20 were appointed to help Aston Villa redevelop its premium hospitality offer, aiming to provide guests with a much broader selection of fine dining and exclusive experiences ready by the start of the following season – the Club’s 150th Anniversary Season.
The scope spanned seven spaces within The Trinity Stand, home to the The Oak Room, Chairman’s Suite, Trophy Suite and Legends, all requiring unique narratives, design concepts, custom furniture and most importantly, beautifully layered storytelling.
These premium spaces have luxurious interiors grounded by a narrative unique to the location and history or the club. Villa Park and the club itself are steeped in history.
20.20 worked together with Levy, CAA ICON and ITS Interiors.
