Kai Tak Sports Park Limited (KTSPL) has announced the appointment of Mr. Andrew Kam Min-Ho as Chief Executive Officer Designate, effective immediately. On 1 April 2026, Kam will succeed CEO Mr. John Sharkey as he concludes a successful tenure of nearly a decade, establishing Kai Tak Sports Park as a premier destination for world-class sports, entertainment, culture and leisure experiences in Hong Kong.
Kam will assume full responsibility as CEO and Sharkey will serve KTSPL as Senior Advisor from 1st April 2026. Kam will work closely with Sharkey in the lead-up to his official appointment. Kam’s appointment reflects the long-term strategic planning of KTSPL, following a rigorous selection process conducted by KTSPL and its Board of Directors.
John Sharkey, the inaugural CEO of KTSPL, has led the project since its inception, with his strategic oversight encompassing the design, construction and operations of the entire precinct. Under Sharkey’s visionary leadership, he built and guided a multidisciplinary team of professionals, overseeing every facet of development to transform Kai Tak Sports Park into a Hong Kong-proud landmark, seamlessly integrating sports, culture, entertainment, retail and community. In just nine months since the grand opening, Kai Tak Stadium ranked third globally in annual ticket sales, with 1.25 million tickets sold amounting to USD$191.34 million, according to leading international industry magazine Pollstar.
The appointment of Kam marks a pivotal milestone as Kai Tak Sports Park enters its next phase of growth. With over 30 years of leadership experience in the entertainment, tourism and consumer sectors across international, Chinese Mainland, as well as local markets, Kam brings a wealth of industry insight and operational expertise. His deep knowledge of business strategy, tourism development, and large-scale venue operations positions him to unlock the full potential of Kai Tak Sports Park and amplify its economic impact.
The Board of Directors of KTSPL said:
“We are pleased to appoint Andrew Kam as the next CEO of Kai Tak Sports Park Limited.
