Brighton & Hove Albion’s VVIP members now have an exclusive window into the Premier League matchday experience at The Amex Stadium, with only one-way glass separating them from the players, managers, officials and media pre- and post-match activity in the tunnel. The club have also partnered with MasterChef: The Professionals’ winner and Etch owner, Steven Edwards, who has created the menu.
20.20 have worked closely with the club to deliver the environmental design concept to help make this a best-in-class dining experience. From the moment you enter your journey to the Tunnel Club you know you are heading somewhere special. The entrance hides the restaurant to help with the exclusivity and the sense of arrival.
The Tunnel Club is the newest and most ambitious hospitality ticket at Brighton and Hove Albion. Partially carved out of the bedrock beneath the stadium, the restaurant’s unique proposition gives 60 guests an unrivalled experience; they get incredibly close to the action, witnessing the peaks of emotion as players and coaching staff gather before and after the game.
Guests enjoy this unique behind the scenes perspective from the comfort of a luxurious environment, sitting on leather banquettes with marble topped tables, copper ceiling coffers and opulent walnut and brass fixtures; their panoramic view of the tunnel and post-match media activity supplemented by TV screens; their padded pitch side seats are the best in the house, sat directly above the tunnel and dug out for unrivalled views of the match itself.
The Tunnel Club celebrates the stadium’s location at the heart of the Sussex downs, with the landscape and lyrics to the Club’s most famous song carved into the chalk and sandstone plaster walls; whilst graphics stimulate conversation and debate about the heroes that play and have played for the Club.
The identity of the space emphasises the experience and the shining light of the tunnel. Guests won’t miss a thing with the clever use of mirrors to capture movement wherever you are.
A unique perspective of the game, a space that lifts the veil and leads you onto the previously unseen, the space references its unique location in the landscape of the south downs. The use of chalk and sandstone tones creates a strong relationship with the bedrock of the stadium.
Albion’s Head of Commercial, Russell Wood, said:
The Tunnel Club experience will elevate our hospitality to one of the best in the country and it was key that the menus reflected these ambitions. Steven is a fantastic chef who has a great reputation locally, not only for his food but his support of local causes and championing Sussex.
Jon Lee, Creative Director, 20.20, said:
The Tunnel Club puts guests at the heart of the action; so, every detail has to exceed their expectation. It’s been a perfect partnership with the Club and Stephen Edwards creating what we believe is now one of the best premium hospitality experiences in the premier league.
