Hartlepool United has announced a new partnership with Global Payments who will assist in driving the club forward with innovative modern technology to make the overall matchday experience better for the fans.
The club has recognised the issues with matchday queuing for both bar and catering outlets and have worked closely with Global Payments installing a brand new Bleep EPOS system to speed up the service throughout the ground.
The majority of sales points around The Suit Direct Stadium will now operate card-only payments, whereby fans can simply tap their card once they have placed their order. The Club will still provide one terminal per stand accepting cash, however they are encouraging fans to take advantage of this new system by using card payments where possible.
Rose Stoker, Head of Operations, Hartlepool United, said:
We are working incredibly hard to improve the overall matchday experience for both the home and visiting supporters. There are a number of projects underway and we are delighted to complete the install of our new Electronic Point of Sale technology.
Global have been fantastic in finding a resolution for the service issues we have faced and have carried out a number of site visits on matchdays, understanding the operational needs of the football club.
This is a real positive for supporters who will experience reduced queuing time and ultimately enjoy the offering far better than previous seasons.
Although we will still accept cash payments in a very limited amount of areas, we would really like to encourage fans to take advantage of the new system as we move towards the end of the year with the aim to eliminate cash payments completely.
ALSD International 2022 is taking place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this September 19 & 20. With a focus on optimising revenue through New Builds, Renovations & Service Expansions, Architecture & Design, Fan Experience, Hospitality & Interiors, Premium Seating, Sustainability and Technology are some of the key pillars to be discussed by a wide range of industry experts. Bleep and Global Payments are Exhibiting Sponsors, with Steve McArdle, Director of Stadia & Venues, to speak on Tuesday 20th September.
Steve McCardle, Director of Stadia & Venues, Global Payments and Bleep UK plc, added:
It has been a pleasure working with Rose and the team to create a technology solution embracing the fan experience. We have a wealth of experience deploying similar solutions to stadiums across the world. However, we do embrace the need to understand the clubs needs locally, making life easier for the clubs operation and their fans. We are proud to be associated with the club and look forward to a long established relationship.
