Liverpool FC has distributed invitations to local residents, representatives and businesses to attend the second stage of the public consultation on the proposed expansion of the Anfield Road Stand.
The consultation will take place from February 12 until February 28 and the public will be able to see the club’s updated plans both online and at a series of public drop-in events being held at Anfield.
The public drop-in events will take place on the following dates:
The Kop Bar, Kop Stand, Anfield (entrance via Walton Breck Road)
- Wednesday February 12 (12pm – 8pm)
- Thursday February 13 (4pm – 8pm)
Pop-up information stand on Anfield Road
- Monday February 24 (5pm – 8pm, at Liverpool v West Ham United game)
The club had 800 responses during the first stage of consultation, with much of that feedback being supportive of the vision to create a bigger Anfield and enabling more supporters to watch the Reds in a world-class facility.
For those unable to attend an event in person, the Anfield Road expansion online hub will be updated with the second-stage proposals from February 12: www.liverpoolfc.com/anfieldroadexpansion.
A representative for Liverpool Football Club commented:
Our proposed images and plans could increase the capacity of the Anfield Road Stand by around 7,000 seats, which would take the overall Stadium capacity to over 61,000.
We are also sharing our ideas for extending the public realm around the Stadium and enhancing connections to Stanley Park.
The new proposals are consistent with the previously consented scheme. The footprint of the proposed Anfield Road Stand extends across Anfield Road.
Although the majority of Anfield Road will remain open for residents and businesses, a short section of the road between Skerries Road and 96 Avenue would be closed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists would be retained around the expanded Anfield Road Stand.
We are committed to finding the best possible solution for the proposed Anfield Road Stand expansion. Your feedback is important to us and will be used to inform the plans and designs for the scheme, as well as helping to inform our decision on whether to proceed with the project.
