Surrey CCC launch 2019 bond to help fund the next stage in the modernisation of the Kia Oval

The Club first unveiled plans to redevelop the Kia Oval back in 2015, with capacity to be increased by replacing the Lock and Peter May stands with a new facility, they have now launched the 2019 bond to help fund the next stage of the venue’s transformation.

Surrey County Cricket Club (Surrey CCC) has launched the 2019 bond, which is being issued to help fund the next stage in the modernisation of the Kia Oval.

Phased over one and a half years, construction will begin in October of this year. The new development will see a three-tier stand built between the Micky Stewart Members’ Pavilion and the Peter May Stand, offering improved facilities for Members, an enhanced match-day experience for spectators and hospitality guests, and increase the capacity of the Kia Oval to 28,000.

Away from cricket, the new development – known as One Oval Square – has been designed to provide further capacity for the club’s growing entertainment and non-cricket business, which currently generates sales in excess of £6m per annum.

Members of Surrey County Cricket Club will benefit from a priority period (as determined by the register of Members at 4pm on 16th September) from the opening of the bond issue on 17th September 2019 until 5pm on 30th September 2019. Please note that applications will be treated on a first come, first served basis.

Construction work is set to begin in October 2019 and will be phased over 18 months, with a completion date scheduled ahead of the 2021 season.
