SKIDATA custom solution for Sacramento Kings becomes new product offering in the U.S.

SKIDATA, Inc. have announced the general release of Flex.Gate MOBILE – originally a custom-designed solution for the Sacramento Kings – which is now available across the U.S.!

SKIDATA Turnstiles and Access Control systems are installed at some of the largest modern stadiums and arenas throughout the world, but sometimes the industry standard doesn’t suit the customer.

The permanent installation of fixed entry devices was not what the NBA’s Sacramento Kings were looking for when they opened their new Golden 1 Center in Sacramento in 2016. That’s where SKIDATA’s sales and development team came in to custom design the solution they needed.

Renier Steyn, SKIDATA Sales Expert said:

The Sacramento Kings were looking for an access control solution that could provide the efficiency and security of a modern access control system, however they had some very specific operational challenges that required the units to be moved after all fans safely entered.

Our team worked to custom-engineer the solution that addressed the fire safety needs, while keeping with the cutting-edge design. The result was an adaptation of our tried and true turnstiles customized for the client.

The Flex.Gate MOBILE solution takes all of the functionality and sleek design of the SKIDATA turnstile and mounts it on a modular base with wheels for easy placement and connection. Because of the quick connect modular design, the configuration can be altered at any time.

Sacramento Kings Chief Technology Officer, Ryan Montoya, said:

The founding principle at Golden 1 Center was to redefine the guest experience through next-generation technology. The team at SKIDATA helped us achieve that vision by providing a custom solution that met our goal of eliminating friction and creating seamless entry into the world’s most technologically-advanced arena.
