Long time sports industry veteran, Jeff Morander, has been named CEO of the ALSD (Association of Luxury Suite Directors), as announced this week by Bill Dorsey, Chairman Emeritus.
Dorsey said:
Jeff has been in the industry for more than 30 years. He has worked for numerous teams across the NHL, NBA, WNBA and NFL, and held key positions with the NHL League office. He has a long track record in business development, ticketing sales and strategy, and delivering on the fan experience. In addition, he directed and executed NHL’s major events such as the NHL All-Star Weekends and Winter Classics.
Morander will work alongside Amanda Verhoff, president of the ALSD.
Dorsey added:
I believe both Jeff and Amanda can tag team this association to its next stage of growth. Jeff has extensive experience in revenue generation, strategy and operations, while Amanda is uniquely skilled at running a successful association and is an expert in directing and executing an industry-leading conference. Between the two of them, I believe you have the best of both worlds.
Throughout his career, Morander has been a sought-after industry consultant. Recently, he worked as Executive VP at the Ottawa Senators during the tough pandemic years, and, before that, he set sales records at the Arizona/Phoenix Coyotes. Over the course of his career he has worked with the Atlanta Hawks/Thrashers, Sacramento Kings and Monarchs, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Lightning, as well as some minor leagues teams in his early days.
Dorsey said:
The ALSD, launched in 1988, is really a second-generation association now. We are established as perhaps the largest, sports-focused business association in the United States. In addition, ALSD International is experiencing growth, and Jeff also has experience in Europe.
With Jeff helping grow the business and with his reach and experience, we expect to see great things for the ALSD now and in the future.
The 2022 edition of ALSD International is being hosted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this September and will focus on optimising revenue through New Builds, Renovations & Service Expansions, with Architecture & Design, Customer/Fan Experience, Hospitality & Interiors, Premium Seating & Sales, Rebuilding & Recovery, Sustainability and Technology some of the key pillars.
Prior to moving to San Francisco and a career in baseball, the Kansas City native began her sports career in season ticket, group sales and marketing for the Kansas City Chiefs. Anne was later tapped by International Management Group’s Football Division to be their NFL player Marketing Director and worked in association with IMG’s worldwide offices. Most recently, Anne has used her sports industry experience as a business and marketing consultant for Fund Raisers Sports, which provides a revenue generating fan engagement platform, via engraved brick programs, to teams and organisations across the sports industry.
Over the course of her career, Anne has worn many hats with the ALSD, starting in 1999 as member attending the conference. In her role with the Giants, she was an integral part of hosting the ALSD conference twice at their venue, has been an annual attendee, a panelist/speaker, Spotlight Awards judge, contributor to SEATmagazine and has also participated as a sponsor and vendor in recent years. Her intimate knowledge of the ALSD, and its powerful influence on the sports industry and its professionals, is instrumental.
