First renderings of interiors designed by Detroit firm Disbrow Iannuzzi for DCFC’s AlumniFi revealed

Detroit firm Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects has shared the first renderings of its designs for the interior architecture of AlumniFi Field, a new 15,000-seat soccer stadium for Detroit City Football Club. Located in southwest Detroit, at the corner of Michigan Avenue and 20th Street, this will be the city’s first soccer-specific stadium. The project is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2028 for the United Soccer League season.

The 170,000sqft of interiors that Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects is designing includes all concourses and public spaces, premium hospitality and team areas.

The stadium is located on a 17-acre site that formerly housed the Southwest Detroit Hospital and which has been abandoned for decades. Its renewal is hoped to not only serve the growing community of DCFC supporters in the city, but also local residents and businesses. The stadium is also intended to be used throughout the year, such as for other sporting events and concerts.

Of the project, Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects’ Founding Partner, Jon Disbrow, said:

“Detroit City Football Club is a truly unique organisation. It was created out of passion for the sport and passion for the city of Detroit. Through the efforts of just a few dedicated individuals, it has grown from a neighborhood soccer league to a club team with dedicated supporters and into a professional team with a 15,000-seat stadium that supports a network of youth soccer programs across southeast Michigan. We are honoured to be working on such an exciting project and to be part of their evolving story.”

David Iannuzzi, the firm’s other Founding Partner, added:

“It is a huge privilege to be entrusted with the design of the stadium’s interior for this singular sports club. Our goal is to channel the ingenuity and passion of the DCFC faithful directly back into the fan experience. With our experience creating genuine and unique hospitality and sports environments, we are focused on creating a space that feels authentic to the city of Detroit and the spirit of Le Rouge.”

Sean Mann, DCFC Co-Founder and CEO, said:

“Partnering with local firm Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects on AlumniFi Field ensures that every interior space reflects who we are as a club and as a city. From the supporters’ stands to premium spaces, their designs channel the noise, colour, and creativity of DCFC matchdays into a unique and authentic stadium experience worthy of our fans and the City of Detroit.”

The 2026 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition – focused on elevating the live experience across the sports and entertainment ecosystem – is being hosted at Everton FC’s spectacular new Hill Dickinson Stadium on October 1st and 2nd, with an Opening Night Icebreaker at Liverpool FC’s iconic Anfield Stadium on September 30th.

About Detroit City Football Club

Founded in 2012, Detroit City FC has established itself as one of the most talked-about soccer teams in North America. The organisation’s founding vision was to satisfy the demand for soccer in downtown Detroit, represent the city in a positive light, and build community through “the beautiful game.”

Founded by a group of young Detroiters, Detroit City FC has developed into a minor league soccer success story, with one of the most exciting match atmospheres in North America, consistently sold-out games, and passionate supporters. Today, DCFC fields a men’s first team that participates in the USL Championship – the second highest level in the US men’s game; a women’s team that plays in the amateur USL W League, a growing youth academy, a growing statewide affiliation of youth clubs numbering over 3000 players, as well as a successful indoor soccer facility in downtown Detroit.
