Twickenham Stadium announces major renovation of Grand Slam events space

Twickenham Stadium, the Home of England Rugby and one of London’s premier conference and event venues, has unveiled a significant renovation of its iconic Grand Slam room and also introduced the new Club XV; two brand-new premium experiences.

The Grand Slam room, renowned for hosting product launches, mini expos, and meetings, will be completed in October, providing an even more versatile and accommodating experience for all types of events, including a newly launched hospitality offer for England Rugby matches and other major events.

The design-led space will feature an open and airy environment with exposed ceilings, adding an industrial touch to the inviting warm and earthy colour palette. Assorted furniture includes built-in booths, soft communal seating, and poseur tables, to foster a contemporary and comfortable atmosphere.

The modern setting will also feature innovative lighting with lightboxes that create the illusion of natural daylight, which can be dimmed for evening events. A dedicated reception desk will provide a brandable reception area to welcome attendees with a personalised touch.

There will also be a capacity for over 100 delegates theatre-style, with ample networking and lounge areas, plus advanced technology, including multiple TVs, and a state-of-the-art TEAM’s unit and screen for seamless conference presentations. Built-in amenities include an integrated bar and buffet station to cater to all event needs.

With an already impressive and extensive hospitality offering available at Twickenham, the 2024 Autumn Nations Series is set to be a tournament filled with tense rivalries, dramatic endings and edge-of-your-seat action, with fans able to enjoy the match from one of the brand-new premium experiences – Grand Slam and Club XV.

Speaking at the launch of Grand Slam and Club XV, Keith Prowse’s Head of Twickenham Sales, Ozzie Wolf, said:

We’re delighted to go on sale with Grand Slam and Club XV for England’s Autumn Nations Series matches against New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Japan.

These new experiences are the perfect way to experience the splendour and spectacle of a matchday at Twickenham if you’re working to a tight budget. I can’t wait to see our clients enjoying them in November.

This major investment will strengthen Twickenham Stadium’s meeting, events, hospitality and catering offering, which includes 34 flexible, dedicated spaces and rooms, including the stunning East Stand development, which opened in Autumn 2018, offering six floors of creative event space.

The sporting venue has also recently announced the return of its pitchside stretch tent to the west stand for summer 2024, creating a memorable events space in the famous surroundings of the Twickenham Stadium Bowl for up 1,500 guests. Alternatively, a larger space for a conference or presentation is the pitch-side stage and screen, which is suitable for up to 2,000 delegates who will be seated in the lower tier of the stadium bowl.

Nils Braude, Managing Director at Twickenham Experience, said:

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the experience at Twickenham, our new Grand Slam room represents a major investment in our already robust events offering. Events at Twickenham are truly unique, combining the iconic atmosphere of our historic venue with stunning views of the playing field that has inspired countless memorable moments for the national rugby team. We are excited to offer this exceptional backdrop for a wide range of events and look forward to welcoming guests to create their own unforgettable experiences.

Grand Slam

For those looking for a lively atmosphere, relaxed seating, delicious, varied menu of small plates and grazing stations and an all-inclusive bar, this is the experience for you. Fans can enjoy the space three hours prior to kick-off and one and a half hours after the final whistle has blown, offering you plenty of time to socialise with your group and absorb the inimitable atmosphere a matchday at Twickenham has to offer. To make it even more of an immersive rugby experience, there’s an opportunity to hear from an international player (current or past) to get their insights and thoughts into the day’s performance. Match seats are located in the middle tier of the South Stand of the stadium, just a few minutes’ walk from the Grand Slam.

Club XV

Club XV is where you want to be if you’re unsure where to go before the match to begin the rugby festivities or you have a limited window of time with a client. This experience offers a unique pre-match experience only, opening three hours prior to kick-off to get you ready for the big fixture. Highlights include arrival appetisers, a buffet main course and complimentary bar to fuel you and your guests before you take to your official match seats.
