VIDEO: Latest on Fulham’s Riverside Stand development

In this latest video update, Andrew Mackintosh, Project Manager for Buckingham Group Ltd, provides an update on the Riverside works at Fulham Football Club’s Craven Cottage ground and outlines the schedule for the coming months.

As work continues apace on the Fulham Pier development, this latest video update provides details on what will be a real game changer for Fulham Football Club and the local community.

The new stand will not only increase the seating capacity at Craven Cottage but also enhance amenities to the ground and locality for supporters, residents and visitors to enjoy.

Designed by architect Populous – who will be joining a “Stadiums of the Future” panel session at this September’s ALSD International conference and exhibition – the development boasts a transformation of the riverside walkway into a world class leisure destination; a pathway that will allow an uninterrupted walk along the banks of the River Thames between Hammersmith and Putney Bridges, and a choice of amenities for visitors to enjoy throughout the year.

Best-in-class offerings

Supporters will experience best-in-class offerings, with the stand incorporating contemporary designs and state of the art concourses and hospitality lounges on matchdays.

The design of the Riverside Stand is sympathetic to Fulham Football Club’s location, the glorious River Thames and the environment.

Importantly, the Riverside development reaffirms Craven Cottage as the home of Fulham Football Club, both for now and future generations.

Rob Paddon, Venue Sales Director, Fulham FC, spoke about the Fulham Pier development during the latest ALSD International – Virtual event, alongside Liz Pattinson, Head of Property at Ascot Racecourse and Debbie Power, Associate Director at KSS on a panel session focused on “The Future of Hospitality & Interiors”. Spectacular new stand

Craven Cottage has played home to Fulham Football Club on the banks of the River Thames since 1896.

Following an announcement from Fulham FC Chairman Shahid Khan on Wednesday 22nd May 2019, the Club signed an agreement with lead contractor Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd, for the demolition and development of the Riverside Stand, which commenced in the summer of 2019.

The Fulham Pier scheme incorporates restaurants overlooking the river, events spaces, a health club complete with roof-top pool, a boutique hotel and a roof terrace. Additionally, it will address the Club’s operational and sporting requirements during the football season, but importantly also provide a new destination for local residents and visitors to the area on non-match days, providing new revenue streams for the club and reaffirming the stadium’s position at the heart of the community.

The transformation will create a modern, world class riverfront destination that will provide so much more than just football, all the while securing Fulham Football Club’s long term home at Craven Cottage.
