In this interview, conducted via Zoom, KSS Director, Nick Marshall, takes us through his career journey thus far, which sees him now as a Director and owner at the award-winning sports architecture and design company.

Conference facilities at the new Plough Lane stadium: KSS and Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd are proud to be working with AFC Wimbledon on the specifications for the stadium, which will be integrated in the wider Plough Lane development including new residential units, retail and commercial space

Nick also talks about their work on the new Main Stand at Liverpool FC, which will be the host venue for the next edition of ALSD International – Europe’s leading event for the Premium Seat & Sports Hospitality sector – and how he foresees the premium and hospitality offerings at sports and entertainment venues evolving over the next 2-5 years.

Finally, Nick talks about how he believes sports venue design will evolve and transform over the next 2-5 years.

KSS is working on an elite training facility for Leicester City FC. The masterplan includes 12 full-size pitches, a show pitch with a 500-seat stand to allow academy teams to play in a match environment, a full-size indoor pitch signature building that moulds into the landscape forming the centrepiece of the masterplan, integrated training centre building for first-team and academy squads including fitness and hydrotherapy suites, tactics, medical, media, dining facilities and a 9-hole recreational golf course and sports turf academy which will train the next generation of elite ground staff
The KSS-designed state-of-the-art training centre for Liverpool FC will bring together the Club’s first team and under 23 squads academy operations together on one site to create a new elite training campus. The site master plan incorporates a clear segregation between the respective squad facilities, with the linear form of the main training centre building providing the separation and maximised frontages out onto the respective pitches
KSS is working on the Academy for Crystal Palace, which is set to secure Category One status in a major expansion and enhancement of the football facilities. The redevelopment will allow the club to provide first-class playing and training facilities to more than 200 players on a single site opposite the first team Training Centre

KSS is a leading architecture and design practice specialising in major sports venues and training facilities, educational projects and residential developments.
