From the mountains, to the palm trees, to the iconic views of downtown, there’s not a bad view from anywhere in the house. Take a tour of the top floor of SoFi Stadium, courtesy of the Los Angeles Rams and this latest episode of “Inside SoFi Stadium”, which went ‘live’ April 29.
SoFi Stadium is the centrepiece of LA Stadium & Entertainment District (LASED) at Hollywood Park, a 298-acre world-class sports and entertainment destination being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke. The state-of-the-art venue will also be ‘home’ to the Los Angeles Chargers.
SoFi Stadium will hold year-round sports and entertainment events and will be the host of Super Bowl LVI in 2022, the College Football National Championship game in 2023, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2028 Summer Olympic & Paralympic Games.
Premium spaces
SoFi Stadium will have a seating capacity of approximately 70,000, expandable up to 100,000, and benefit from some 260 luxury suites, more than 13,000 premium seats, and over three million square feet of usable space.
A 27,000SF SoFi-branded VIP activation space inside the stadium will be utilised for special events, including a dedicated SoFi lounge for its members to access, one of the exclusive opportunities the company plans to offer members as part of it’s naming-rights partnership.
In addition to the stadium naming rights, SoFi will be an official partner of each of the teams, as well as a partner of the performance venue and surrounding entertainment district.
Largest stadium in NFL
SoFi Stadium is the first indoor-outdoor stadium to be constructed. Adjacent to the stadium and under the same roof canopy is a 6,000-seat performance venue and the 2.5-acre American Airlines Plaza. The performance venue will host a variety of events, including concerts, esports events, award shows, as well as community gatherings.
Hollywood Park will feature more than 1.5 million square feet of retail and office space initially, 2,500 residences, a hotel, and more than 20 acres of parks. At 3.1 million square-feet, SoFi Stadium is the largest stadium in the NFL.
Hollywood Park was represented by Legends Global Partnerships division, which sourced, negotiated and represented Hollywood Park in securing the wide-ranging naming-rights partnership with SoFi.
Technology partners
Hollywood Park and Cisco have entered into a partnership that establishes the technology leader as the official IT network services partner of SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. The agreement includes an end-to-end deployment of Cisco’s industry-leading sports and entertainment solutions across SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park to create one of the most innovative and technologically advanced mixed-use developments in the world.
Hollywood Park will be built on Cisco’s intent-based networking technology. The secure platform will allow SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park to streamline operations, facilitate IT and business innovation, and re-define what is possible for fans as part of the live event experience with new content, experiences and engagement opportunities.
The Cisco Connected Stadium Wi-Fi network at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park will utilise Wi-Fi 6, the next-generation wireless standard, and be the largest deployment ever of the technology in a sports venue. More than 2,500 Wi-Fi 6 access points in SoFi Stadium will deliver faster speeds for immersive-experience applications, more bandwidth (four times greater capacity than the previous Wi-Fi standard) and higher reliability, all while being less taxing on a device’s battery. The high-density network will also enable SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park to leverage one secure Wi-Fi platform for employees, operations and fan-facing services.
Jason Gannon, Managing Director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, said:
SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park are the future of live sports and entertainment. We envision SoFi Stadium not just hosting world-class events like the Super Bowl and the Olympics, but also serving as a dynamic media platform. Our partnership with Cisco will set a new standard for the fan experience through cutting-edge technology that will enhance the way guests interact with live events, not only at SoFi Stadium but across all of Hollywood Park.
The 298-acre global sports and entertainment destination will implement Cisco Vision, an end-to-end dynamic signage solution that combines high-definition video delivery with state-of-the art digital signage. The first-ever entirely 4K deployment of Cisco Vision will power approximately 2,500 screens throughout SoFi Stadium’s concourses, suites, concessions, as well as across Hollywood Park, making it one of the most sophisticated venues in the world to create and deliver media-centric experiences. With one central point of control for all screens, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park will have the ability to dynamically program every area of the property and take a customised approach for each screen as desired or needed.
