New home team dressing room for Southampton FC unveiled at St. Mary’s stadium

KSS recently completed Southampton Football Club’s new home dressing room for the start of the 2019/20 season, with a full refurbishment and re-configuration of the first team, managers and coaches areas. The new design brings together the players, coaches, analysts and medical staff all in to one cohesive space.

The first team home dressing room for the Premier League club is at the heart of the new suite, in an inclusive horseshoe configuration that can be totally enclosed for complete pre match focus. The dark and dramatic design reflects the clubs values of aspiration and unity and provides excellent sight lines for the manager Ralph Hasenhüttl to deliver key messages.

Each bespoke locker has a personalised bronze name plaque sat above the iconic red and white Saints shirt, which hangs against a backdrop of matt black. High quality craftsmanship has given a unique Southampton FC identity to the lockers with brand stripes inlaid in red, which seamlessly flow in to embroidered stripes within the seating.

Pre-set lighting, digital and audio scenes transform the space and include focus, reflection and celebration modes, all encompassed by a large oval illuminated raised ceiling feature. The philosophy of the design has been continued throughout the suite from the entrance featuring a large scale bronze club crest, to the Manager and Coaches dressing room and the players grooming area.

The home dressing room at St. Mary’s Stadium was revealed at the Season Launch Show and was well received by the players and fans alike.

Club ambassador, Matt Le Tissier, said:

Every detail has been taken care of and it looks spectacular. You can’t help but look forward to coming in here on a match day.

Wide-ranging upgrades

This latest development follows hot on the heels of the wide range of KSS-designed upgrades at St. Mary’s Stadium, including a new pitch side lounge and improved catering facilities.

The new 40-person lounge has been named the 1885 after the year the Club was founded. It is amongst the top hospitality offers in the stadium, featuring full height glazing with great views of the pitch and seating bowl. Historic memorabilia and artefacts have also been incorporated into the high quality contemporary interior.

KSS Director Andy Simons said:

We are very excited to see how this new lounge offer is received, we think it will be very popular for both match days and conferences. If 1885 is as successful as we anticipate then this could be the start of a whole new range of hospitality offers at the club.

Anthony Cole-Johnson, Sales Director at Southampton FC said:

The new lounge sets a fresh benchmark for our hospitality proposition here at Southampton Football Club for both match days and as importantly non match days. KSS have been truly supportive in delivering on our stated ambitions in a tight time line. Coupled with the wider masterplan development across the stadium, KSS have become a trusted partner of Southampton Football Club.
