CASE STUDY: Addvance IT (AIT) at Glorious Goodwood

In this case study, we take a look at the reasons behind Goodwood Estate’s decision to choose Addvance IT to deliver an effective payment-based customer experience.

With a client who’s estate covers 12,000 acres, hosting events that vary from motorsport revival to horse racing to the vastly impressive immensity of the Festival of Speed, the Goodwood Estate provides a unique challenge – how do you deliver fast and effective payment-based customer experience in a site that is for three quarters of the year populated by grazing livestock?

When, in 2018, Addvance IT (AIT) were awarded the contract to deliver Kappture and over a hundred workhorse terminals with integrated PDQs, initially for the race days and then for FOS, this provided a fantastic opportunity for Kappture’s key strengths to be demonstrated: Quick deployment; Fast transactions; Simple and easy to use; Real time changes & analytics.

Given a short lead-time, AIT stepped up and delivered 135 Kappture ready terminals and EFT. Further to the delivery and install of the system, AIT provided onsite support for the first year of large events, including the Festival of Speed and the Qatar Festival, aka “Glorious Goodwood”.

For year two, this support function was scaled back, Kappture having proven itself reliable and easy to use.

Following the roll-out, Di Hudson, Head of IT for Goodwood Estates, commented:

What AIT deployed, in the very short time given to them, was incredibly good – we had no major problems which, given it was the first race day and the first use of their system, was excellent.

Kappture’s flexibility in design lends itself to such challenges, allowing for the catering operations team to build the back office and hierarchy in a way to allow for tills to be deployed into different events with different product lines, layouts, and pricing structures with effective ease and reducing the manpower needed to manage a previously complex systems structure.

AIT are now working with Goodwood in an event support capacity, whilst looking at how the solution’s latest innovations can be introduced into this prestigious arena, with such features as K-Stock, mobile applications for steward feeding, and enhanced payment features.
