Job of the Week: Communications Manager, Glasgow 2018 European Championships

Help to deliver a world-first, the first-ever combined European Championships. Glasgow 2018, the biggest sporting event to come to Glasgow and Scotland since the best ever Commonwealth Games, is looking to recruit a Communications Manager – Sport.

 

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate with proven sports PR experience to work in close collaboration with our partners and stakeholders to take a lead role in the planning, development and implementation of the sport PR and Communications Strategy.

 

Working in a complex landscape with multiple partners, the candidate will have significant experience of media relations at major sporting events, and the proven ability to build and maintain excellent relationships across a range of stakeholders including the media.  In addition, the candidate will have significant experience of influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

 

The successful candidate will be based at Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow, Scotland.

 

The successful candidate must be able to commit to evening and weekend working shortly before, and during, the Championships.  Restrictions on annual leave will also be necessary in the summer of 2018.

 

This is a fixed term secondment opportunity up to August 2018.
