Job Description

OC Sport is a global sports marketing and event management company specialising in professional sailing, outdoor events, managing competitive teams and athletes, and providing consultancy to brands, host venues and other events. The company has offices in the UK, France, Switzerland, USA and China, forming the OC Sport Group. Haute Route Sàrl is the subsidiary of OC Sport dedicated to cycling events.

 

Haute Route
Launched in 2011, the Haute Route offers amateur riders the chance to ‘ride like a pro’ across the most iconic destinations in the world. The Haute Route is a market leader and has an ambitious growth strategy over the next five years. Eleven Haute Route events will be organised in 2018:

Haute Route San Francisco: April 20th to 22nd
Haute Route Asheville: May 18th to 20th
Haute Route Stelvio: June 8th to 10th
Mavic Haute Route Rockies: June 23rd to 29th
Haute Route Alpe d’Huez: July 13th to 15th
Maserati Haute Route Norway: August 3rd to 5th
Haute Route Pyrenees: 18th to 24th
Haute Route Alps: August 26th to September 1st
Haute Route Dolomites: 3 days in September
Haute Route Utah: September 14th to 16th
Haute Route Ventoux: October 5th to 7th

Job Description: 
The Haute Route Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring overall logistical delivery across Haute Route events in Europe to the highest standard. The Haute Route Logistics Manager will also help the other logistics manager in other continents to deliver the events well. Strong inter-personal skills, rigorous planning, budget control, and team leadership are central to this role.

 

This will involve, but is not restricted to, the following:

  • Management of the Haute Route logistics including infrastructure and materials in line with project’s overall objectives and targets
  • Prepare brief and manage a team of event crew during the event
  • Management of the Sustainability Management programmes
  • Conceptualize event village layout and overall look and feel
  • Supplier sourcing, liaison and management
  • Support Race directors with signage production and feed station preparation work
  • Perform setup and breakdown of Event Village, start line, finish line as required
  • Management of Haute Route merchandise sourcing, purchasing and delivery where necessary
  • Stock and inventory management and control
  • Providing regular reports to the senior management team and key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Budget management as relevant
  • Work alongside all the other departments
  • Document best practises and processes
  • Liaise with and train the other Haute Route logistics team in other continents
  • Deliver logistics guidelines for the other Haute Route logistics team in other continents

Personal Specification:

  • EU or Swiss National
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience and a proven track record in logistics
  • A passion for sport and knowledge of endurance sports and cycling in particular is an advantage
  • Ability to manage own workload to set deadlines and management of others in team as relevant
  • Fluency in English and French (either native or strong command) is mandatory, additional languages would be an asset (especially Italian or Spanish)
  • Ability to manage external suppliers and managing budgets
  • Good reporting skills
  • Ability to work on-site at events throughout the year
  • Good communicator with ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Creative problem solver and willing to try new things
  • Determined, resourceful and resilient
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Enjoys regular travel and working in new and sometimes challenging locations, even at week-ends and during the summer
  • Be used to a ‘project’ based lifestyle
  • International awareness, sensitivity to foreign cultures and sufficient etiquette and presence to work with high level local government stakeholders
  • Great sense of humour which carries through under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills and self-motivated personality with the ability to work to tight deadlines, cope with event pressures, and manage their own time effectively, who can work well within a small and hard-working team
  • Driving license is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programmes essential and MAC operator beneficial, but not essential
