Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, has been confirmed as the destination and host for the Stadium Business Design & Development Summit 2018 – one of the leading global gatherings of stadium, arena and sports venue business leaders.
Taking place at Emirates Old Trafford June 12-13, 2018, the prestigious event, owned by Xperiology, will deliver a conference, exhibition, stadium tours, networking events and The Stadium Business Awards, to a gathering of many of the sports and entertainment sector’s most respected stadium and events professionals.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Lancashire County Cricket Club, said:
We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud that Emirates Old Trafford have been appointed by Xperiology as the host of the prestigious Stadium Business Design & Development Summit 2018. That we will once again be welcoming the leading individuals from the stadium industry to Manchester in 2018 is a real testament to the continuing growth and development of the stadium and the city.
Ian Nuttall, Chief Executive of Xperiology, said:
Each year the Summit relocates to ensure we are showcasing the very latest in stadium management and operations. Over the past decade we’ve hosted the Stadium Business Design & Development Summit at such acclaimed venues as Wembley, The O2, Juventus Stadium, Camp Nou, the Bernabéu and Lord’s.
With its extensive conference and events facilities – along with the new, fully integrated Hilton Garden Inn hotel – Emirates Old Trafford provides not only a great host facility but also offers our international delegates a unique showcase for multi-use stadium operations.
The announcement that The Stadium Business Design & Development Summit 2018 will be held at Emirates Old Trafford follows the news earlier this year that the venue will to play host to the The Ticketing Business Forum coming in April 2018.
Daniel continued:
That Emirates Old Trafford’s continues to attract and host major sport and entertainment sector events, including the The Stadium Business Design & Development Summit, The Ticketing Business Forum, as well as the biggest names in the music industry, such as Radiohead, The Courteeners and the globally renowned One Love Manchester [Ariana Grande] benefit concert is testament to the hugely impressive and ever popular facilities on offer.
The venue has undergone a GBP£60m redevelopment in recent years, which culminates in the opening of the on-site 150-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn hotel this summer, including 80 stunning pitch-facing balcony rooms.
LCCC’s Emirates Old Trafford together with Manchester United’s Old Trafford were joint winners of the Judge’s Choice Award at this year’s Stadium Business Awards for their delivery of the One Love Manchester/Ariana Grande benefit concert.
