The Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) have confirmed today that they are extending the deadline for prospective tenderers to prequalify for the contract for the Design, Construction and Operation of the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong.
The scope of works of the contract comprises the design, construction and operation of the Kai Tak Sports Park – a site area of about 28 hectares – located in the north apron of the former Hong Kong International Airport in Kai Tak, Kowloon City District.
Facilities included in the project comprises: a multi-purpose Main Stadium with a spectator capacity of around 50,000; a Public Sports Ground with a spectator capacity of around 5,000; an Indoor Sports Centre, with a multi-purpose main arena with a seating capacity of 10,000 and an ancillary sports hall with a seating capacity of 500; retail and dining outlets with gross floor area (GFA) of about 60,000m2; a 40-lane bowling centre; a health and wellness centre, with a GFA of about 2,500m2; and Public Open Space of more than 8 hectares. The total construction floor area is of about 390,000m2.
Subject to funding approval by the Legislative Council Finance Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the contract is scheduled to commence in 2018, for a period of 25 years, including the design, construction and operation of the Kai Tak Sports Park.

The invitation for prospective tenderes to prequalify for the contract was gazetted on April 28, 2017.
The closing date and time for all tenders to be submitted by is now 21 July 2017. Prequalification applications should be submitted to the quotation box of the HAB at:
