Gazprom Arena features world’s largest LED ribbon

Colosseo continues providing revolutionising solutions for Gazprom Arena – the most unique and advanced football venue in Russia with a capacity for 72,000 spectators and a UEFA category 4 rating – by installing the world’s largest LED ribbon board and fulfilling the constantly increasing demand for larger digital space for sponsors, game show presentation and fan engagement.

The newly added Colosseo LED ribbon is an incredible 2.2 metres (7.2ft tall) and over 590 metres (1.935 ft) long, delivering a massive digital space of 1,300 sqm (4,265 sqft) of active LED area and features SMD 15mm line spacing technology, which provides crisp imagery and vivid colours.

The ribbon also perfectly accentuates two giant Colosseo VISION LED displays, which were installed for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, and enhances the whole visual experience at the stadium.

Colosseo is also proud of the fact that as the only solution provider among the many competitors, it was able to provide a customised LED solution that solved the technical challenge of 183 air-conditioning outputs across the whole LED ribbon periphery.

The company’s engineers proposed a solution which involved the usage of special, indented, mesh-type LED, specially designed to allow air to freely blow out. Colosseo then manufactured, delivered and installed the whole LED ribbon in just two months, meeting the incredibly tight deadline to have it ready for the grand finale of the Russian Football League, which recently successfully took place on May 26th.
