Crystal Palace have made a raft of improvements over the summer to Selhurst Park, the Training Ground and the club’s facilities overall.
With the Main Stand redevelopment progressing, the demolition of the existing Main Stand – as well as the surrounding areas of Selhurst Park – has commenced this summer.
Notably, the club’s Main Reception; the Boardroom; the Vice Presidents’ Lounge; Speroni’s Restaurant; and the Stanley Stephenson Lounge have all been removed and relocated marking a major milestone in the redevelopment.
Plus, following the purchase of six houses formerly located in Wooderson Close, these have now also been safely demolished, with protective hoarding erected around the site.
The Fanzone has also been removed to make way for construction traffic as well as clearing space for new Low Voltage and High Voltage works which will help power the future operation of the new Main Stand.
The Eagles’ Nest concourse has been significantly upgraded and extended, with new air conditioning, toilets, shop outlet, seating area and a new food and drink kiosk all ready for supporters to enjoy, limiting the impact on matchday routines.
In addition, supporters located in Wright & Bright Bar will have more space thanks to an extended lounge.
New away changing rooms have also been completed beneath the Holmesdale and will be used by visiting teams.
The 2026 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition – focused on elevating the live experience across the sports and entertainment ecosystem – is being hosted at Everton FC’s Hill Dickinson Stadium on October 1st and 2nd, with an Opening Night Icebreaker at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium on September 30th.
New Hospitality Suite
The club has also introduced a new 1,200 sq. metre, two-storey, glass-fronted Hospitality Suite, The 1861 Lounge, constructed over the summer.
Situated just a short walk from Main Reception, the new Premium Hospitality suite is set to provide guests with experiences of exceptional quality, with gourmet menus, inclusive drinks, and the opportunity to watch matches from the best seats in the house.
This Suite will host both a brand-new Premium Experience for 26/27 and guests of Speroni’s Restaurant, Vice Presidents’ Lounge and the Boardroom – making The 1861 Lounge the ideal setting to rub shoulders with leading club figures and legends.
Improving the fan experience
In addition, there have been a wide range of internal improvements to Selhurst Park made during the off-season to improve supporters’ matchday experiences.
Brand new power bank stations have been installed at four locations around the stadium – with more due to follow – ensuring supporters can keep their phones charged whilst sat in their seat or having a pre-match pint and not having to worry about their phone battery throughout matchday.
In the Holmesdale Road stand, new self-service drinks kiosks, produced by EBar, have been installed in several locations, reducing queues and making it easier than ever for supporters to get a drink. Plus, the robots returned to SE25 as the roof of the Holmesdale Road Stand had a full clean over the summer.
Also, the lighting across the Holmesdale concourses has been transformed, meaning supporters can finally say goodbye to the orange glow and say hello to new LED energy-efficient lighting.
Supporters in the Whitehorse Lane, as well as some in the Main Stand , will return to like-new seating after just under 3,000 seats have been fully cleaned and recoated with resin ahead of the new campaign.
In addition, rail seating has been installed in the away end for the safety of visiting supporters.
A mobile matchday shop will be visible outside the ground, providing supporters from all corners of the ground easier access to pick up shirts and a wide range of other memorabilia from their trip to Selhurst Park.
Chief Executive Officer Sharon Lacey commented:
“It has been an exceptionally busy summer off the pitch, as we have continued to invest in our facilities and support the future growth of the Football Club.
“Despite a short turnaround, we are delighted to have completed – off the back of the club’s busiest season in terms of competitive fixtures – a number of Main Stand Redevelopment Project enabling works.
“This will now allow us to progress with additional Redevelopment works in between fixtures, and during international breaks, this season. Supporters will notice further progress over the coming months.
“We hope that every fan will enjoy plenty of positive changes when they attend Selhurst Park for the first time this season, and throughout the campaign.
“Above all, we look forward to welcoming you back to Selhurst Park for what promises to be another exciting season in the Premier League and – once again – in Europe.”
The Training Ground
To support the club’s second season in European competition, a raft of improvements have also been made to facilities at the Training Ground.
These include the completion of a two-story expansion of the players’ gymnasium; the extension of the players’ changing rooms; and increased parking facilities.
In addition, supporters will have noticed – during Pierre Sage’s first press conference last week – a complete refurbishment of the Training Ground’s media and team meeting room, now equipped with embossed, raked seating, and a state-of-the-art, 3.2-metre screen.
An extended groundsmen’s shed has been installed to house the necessary machinery to keepthe pitches in state-of-the-art condition.
