Sunderland reveals upgrades at Stadium of Light

Sunderland AFC has continued to invest in the matchday experience at the Stadium of Light as the 2026-27 Premier League season gets underway, with improvements across hospitality, concourse facilities and the food and drink offer.

All hospitality boxes have undergone a full refurbishment, delivering a significant uplift in look and feel, alongside new padded seats in the bowl.

Guests will also benefit from a new pre-ordering portal, providing a more bespoke experience with the option to add upgrades ahead of matchday.

The 2026 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition – focused on elevating the live experience across the sports and entertainment ecosystem – is being hosted at Everton FC’s Hill Dickinson Stadium on October 1st and 2nd, with an Opening Night Icebreaker at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium on September 30th.

A new hospitality space, The Coalfields, has also been introduced, offering supporters the opportunity to enjoy matchday hospitality on a match-by-match basis.

Inspired by Sunderland and the region’s mining heritage, the new space sits within the Club’s hospitality tiering alongside the Montgomery Suite.

Across the Stadium, visual improvements have also been made to entrance and staircase areas, while two new kiosks have been added around the lower bowl in the West and East Stands, increasing service capacity and helping to reduce queues.

The Club has also strengthened its food and drink offer. An extended partnership with Rollover includes additional mobile hotdog carts, while a new agreement with Wrights will introduce further choices to concourses, with prices held at last season’s levels.

The drinks range has also been expanded, including the planned introduction of Vaux’s Wise Men Say, a 4% session pale ale (due to be available from the Arsenal fixture on September 12), alongside draught fruit cider at most eBars.
