Huddersfield Town plan to build hotel at Accu Stadium

EFL League One club Huddersfield Town has submitted a planning application to build a Hilton Garden Inn hotel at the Accu Stadium.

Adjoining the Terriers Together North Stand, the proposed hotel would redevelop what was formerly offices and facilities for Kirklees Active Leisure, bringing 141 new generous hotel rooms to the area, including the remodelling of existing premium spaces and 14 match day boxes.

 The current designs feature a 100-seat restaurant and bar, an impressive glass atrium and gym facilities for guests.

Incorporating the existing H Town within the space, the Club has worked closely with architects to create multipurpose public spaces across the ground floor that can be utilised on match days in HD1, giving supporters a greater depth of option and experience when joining us at home.

 Huddersfield Town said partnering with Hilton hotels with their Hilton Garden Inn brand, their ability to seamlessly blend sports and leisure can already be seen successfully in action at their Silverstone location and at multiple locations around the UK including football, cricket and motor racing stadiums.

The 2026 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition – focused on elevating the live experience across sports and entertainment – is being hosted at Everton FC’s spectacular new Hill Dickinson Stadium, Oct 1st and 2nd, with an Opening Night Icebreaker at Liverpool FC’s iconic Anfield Stadium, Sept 30th.

Current construction logistics would see the Terriers Together North Stand closed for one full season in 2027/28, while access to the remainder of the stadium, turnstiles and concourses would remain unaffected.

The club said in a statement:

“Our first major step in the overall development of the wider Accu Stadium site since the Club took full ownership of our home and the wider 53-acre surrounding site in September 2025, the hotel underlines our commitment to regenerating our corner of HD1 for the benefit of our town, whilst creating enhanced revenue streams throughout the year for Huddersfield Town.”
