Ace Seating has successfully completed the installation of 42,000 new spectator seats across the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), marking one of the most significant stadium seating upgrades in Australia in recent years.
Delivered across four carefully planned stages, the project included the full replacement of seating within the iconic Shane Warne Stand, addressing nearly three decades of wear and ensuring the venue remains at the forefront of spectator experience and stadium design standards.
Despite the scale and complexity of the project, the installation was completed without any disruption to the MCG’s extensive calendar of sporting events, concerts and major functions—an achievement made possible through meticulous planning, project management and close collaboration with stadium management.
The new Bluecube Centura seats, supplied and installed by their exclusive Australian partner Ace Seating and its specialist team, enhance both comfort and durability while continuing the MCG’s commitment to world-class facilities for fans.

“Ace Seating have recently completed a four-stage upgrade of all seats in the Shane Warne Stand at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In total, they replaced almost 42,000 seats, arranging all aspects of the job including the design and documentation of the seating solution and the recycling of the existing seating they removed. The work was completed efficiently and scheduled around the MCG’s event calendar.
“Most importantly, Ace Seating maintained 100% of seating capacity for all arena events during the installation. A detailed final inspection (and clean) of each area was completed by Ace Seating before it was returned to service. In addition, maintenance requests due to broken seats have completely stopped coming through for the areas that have been replaced.
“Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the product, the quality of the installation, the efficiency of the installation, and how the team conducted themselves while working at the MCG.”
