BDP Pattern appointed to lead West Stand expansion at Elland Road

Leeds United Football Club has appointed BDP Pattern, the sports and entertainment division of BDP, to deliver the redevelopment of the West Stand at Elland Road Stadium.

The project is a pivotal step in Leeds United’s ambitious vision to reimagine and expand its historic ground and the appointment covers RIBA Stages 4–6 of the redevelopment of the West Stand, with BDP Pattern overseeing detailed development, technical design and delivery through to completion.

The West Stand upgrade is a cornerstone of the wider masterplan to increase capacity from 37,645 to 53,000, while protecting Elland Road’s unique identity and matchday atmosphere.

The redevelopment will transform the fan experience with improved accessibility, world-class hospitality and modernised facilities, ensuring Elland Road continues to stand as one of football’s most atmospheric stadiums.

Alongside the West Stand, the North Stand will also be elevated to meet modern standards, with the South Stand earmarked for future enhancements.

The 2026 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition – focused on elevating the live experience – is being hosted at Everton Football Club’s brand new Hill Dickinson Stadium on October 1st and 2nd.
