At this time of such great uncertainty for not only the sports and entertainment sector but for everyone globally due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, PTI Smarter Venues is offering its support to clubs, stadiums and venues.
PTI Smarter Venues CEO, Mike Bohndiek, said:
At PTI Smarter Venues, our customer service values revolve around a partnership approach with clients; being there when we are needed and providing the right support. They talk to putting ourselves in their shoes and having empathy for the stresses that a challenge may cause them.
Never have they been more applicable than today. With our tight-knit sports industry reacting to the Coronavirus, I am proud to be offering free assistance to any sports team or venue, regardless of global location or sports code, for the next 30 days around two core challenges arising.
Firstly, during this period of postponement, digital engagement across your team and fan base will take on an even greater importance. PTI Smarter Venues have a team of digital experts who are here to help, and we are offering free advice and planning sessions to any club or venue who need the support.
Any clubs, stadia or venues looking for guidance on how to best to work through this period can reach out to Daniel Brown, Data and Digital Director at PTI Smarter Venues via email at: Daniel.brown@ptismartervenues.com
Mike added:
Secondly, there is a need for many businesses to rapidly enhance their working from home capabilities. If this is a struggle for you, reach out to me directly and between PTI Smarter Venues and our IT Services partners at ITEC, we’ll get you moving.

Mike concluded:
As an industry, we are good at standing together and battling the odds. Let’s make this just the latest example as we aim to restore order to the sporting world.
Freelance Content Creators Competition
Covid-19 has hit the sporting industry hard. Whilst many are focused on the primary impacts i.e. lower league clubs cash flow and how the leagues may handle this, there is a significant secondary market impact on those who work around the industry. Be it match day stewards or the burger van outside, there are many businesses and individuals affected by this loss of revenue.
Amongst some of the most affected are freelance content creators. Without games, there is limited content to produce and further, clubs aren’t looking to spend on it in the short term.
Mike said:
At PTI Smarter Venues, we are privileged to work with some of the biggest sporting names in the business in amongst our 75+ clubs and venues across the UK and Ireland cutting across the Premier League, EFL, Premiership Rugby, County Cricket and more. Our work in digital strategy often cuts across activations of digital content and hence we have a number of clubs who look to us for advice in this area. Added to this, our media and advertising offering talks to wider digital content uses.
We want to use this platform to assist freelance content creators during this challenging time by providing a competition that can promote your work or deliver a short-term cash boost.
Highlight Your Content to Professional Clubs
Through this competition and working with clients and partners, PTI wants to get your talents seen by the wider world and help promote your work to the right people in the right places – helping for today but more generally for longer term relationships.
For the top three, there are cash prizes, which may help across the short-term financial burden that the postponement period has created.
How Does it Work?
Send in an example of work that could be used during this postponement period by a sports club or venue. Be as creative and innovative as you like! This could be an image, a series of posts, a game, a video, a GIF – your choice! It could be a player announcement, a sponsor message etc!You can submit this via the competition entry form below.
All entries received will be submitted to PTI’s clubs for review and credit will be given for any concepts used – so your minimum reward for the time taken is to get your work in front of the marketing teams within professional sports clubs! PTI will also be sharing the best entries via its own social channels for wider awareness.
The top three entries, as deemed by the PTI Smarter Venues judging panel, will also win a cash prize of:
1st Prize: £1,000
2nd Prize: £500
3rd Prize: £250
The deadline for entries is Friday 27th March, with winners announced in the W/C 30th March
