JOB OF THE WEEK: Community & Events Coordinator, ICC T20 World Cup

We’re delighted to bring you details on the latest Job of the Week – powered by Global Sports – which is for a Community & Events Coordinator at the ICC T20 World Cup.

 

The Community & Events Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the entire Media, Communications and Community team with implementation of community and event activations, team logistics, program management and administrative support, as well as supporting the General Manager with executive assistant duties. This role will be a key representative of the ICC T20 World Cup in the community and act as an advocate for the events.

 

This is a unique opportunity for a proactive and highly organised all-rounder to play a role in the delivery of both the women’s and men’s events, spanning 13 venues across Australia in the same year!

 

About you

  • You are a highly organised, energetic and proactive individual who is excited by the opportunity to work in a fluid and diverse role within a busy team
  • You have proven experience within a sport, major event or entertainment context supporting the delivery of events and community engagement activities
  • You have strong planning, organisational and operational skills as it relates to festival and event activations across community, business and cricket related activities
  • You have experience providing administrative support to management, and can implement procedures to create efficiencies
  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy building relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders

 

To be successful in this role, you must be someone who enjoys working in a high energy, innovative and fast paced setting, and is not afraid of hard work. Your extensive experience to date will have equipped you with the ability to create and deliver innovative solutions ideally gained within the major events or sporting landscape.

The ICC T20 World Cup is cricket’s ultimate prize in the fastest growing and most accessible format of the game. T20 is the vehicle to attract new, more diverse and younger audiences to the game.

 

In 2020, Australia has a unique opportunity to host this major global event – two World Cups in the same year! The eyes of the world will be on Australia as the 10 best women’s teams and 16 best men’s teams, compete to be crowned world champions. This will be the first time that the ICC T20 World Cup has been held in Australia and follows the highly successful ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, staged across Australia and New Zealand, which delivered record-breaking attendances, visitation and global television audiences.
