WEBINAR: ShowStop Procedure Course – A Critical New Resource for Stadium Event Safety

Last week, Sports Venue Business had the pleasure of speaking with global safety and security industry experts, Steve Allen and Dr Steve Frosdick, to discuss the ShowStop® Procedure, fully supported and endorsed by the Pink Bows Foundation.

In this hugely topical webinar, recorded last week, Steve Allen and Dr Steve Frosdick outlined the relevance of the ShowStop® Procedure for stadium events across the globe, and advised moderator, Katie McIntyre, how the new framework represents a vital development for the global stadium and live event industry.

This webinar provides stadium and event professionals with essential insights into:

  • Its relevance to stadium events, including concerts and large-scale live entertainment

  • Key risks faced by stadiums that fail to implement or execute a robust ShowStop Procedure

  • How this new procedure differs from traditional safety, security and operational protocols used during sporting events and large-scale live entertainment events

  • Why the ShowStop Procedure is critical not only for security and crowd safety personnel, but also for wider stadium operations teams and event-day staff

  • Examples of industry professionals and venues that have already undertaken ShowStop Procedure training in 2025

About ShowStop

The Showstop® Procedure course was launched in March 2025. Distilling decades of experience, curated collaboratively by international safety and security professionals, pioneered by Steve Allen and Dr Mark Hamilton of Crowd Safety. It is the World’s first and only internationally approved and accredited ShowStop® Procedure training course.

The Showstop® Procedure course offers a simple-to-implement, proven safety critical protocol to halt a match, concert or large-scale event in the (foreseeable) occurrence of a life-threatening situation, such as crowd issues, fire, inclement weather, active shooter or terrorist attack.

This one-day course is suitable for experienced stadium managers, safety managers and security professionals, culminating in an exam to gain the professional ShowStop® accreditation.

The Pink Bows Foundation has supported and promoted the ShowStop initiative ‘to make events safer’, as a legacy to Madison Dubiski, one of the ten young people who tragically died at Astroworld in 2001.

There are already over 350 trained ShowStop Managers across four continents. Future courses are available for experienced event and venue professionals seeking continuing professional development and to underpin their competence in this safety-critical role.

To date, ShowStop has successfully trained Event Managers, Safety Managers and Security Staff operating in Football, Rugby, World Title Boxing, Horse Racing, American Football (Union Jack Classic), Formula 1 and Formula E.

This accredited ShowStop® Procedure course provides a framework for a proven and rapid response to undesirable occurrences which can frequent events with large crowds and televised events.
