76ers and Flyers select Turner / AECOM Hunt JV as Construction Partner for new South Philadelphia Arena

The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers have selected a joint venture led by Turner Construction and AECOM Hunt as the construction manager for their new state-of-the-art arena in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

The joint venture, named PACT+, will also include prominent Philadelphia-based firms Perryman Construction, Hunter Roberts Construction Group and Camfred Construction. PACT + will work closely with the teams’ ownership and the design team at Populous and Moody Nolan to bring the new arena to life.

The targeted opening date for the arena is 2030, coinciding with the debut of the new WNBA Philadelphia team, which will play there.

David Adelman, Chairman of the joint venture between the 76ers and Flyers, said:

“Having Turner and AECOM Hunt on our team is a game-changer as we work to build the most technologically-advanced and fan-focused sports and entertainment venue in the world. The knowledge this venture brings to the project will ensure we are on the cutting-edge of the next era of how fans experience live sports and entertainment. This team shares our commitment to being authentic to the Philadelphia fan experience and building an arena the city and fans can be proud of. We are also proud to partner with local, Philadelphia based firms to bring this generational project to life.”

Dave Kaminski, Vice President and Senior General Manager for Turner, said:

“This is more than a construction project—it’s a chance to build something that becomes part of Philadelphia’s fabric for generations. As someone who calls this city home, I couldn’t be prouder that Turner is helping shape a landmark that will bring people together and celebrate what makes Philadelphia such a special place.”

The 2026 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition – focused on elevating the live experience – is being hosted at Everton Football Club’s spectacular new Hill Dickinson Stadium on October 1st and 2nd, and will include a VIP tour of this stunning venue, as well as other Liverpool landmark venues. Populous was a returning sponsor for the 2025 event, hosted at Villa Park earlier this month.

Jason Kopp, COO, Central Region, AECOM Hunt, said:

“We’re honoured to help bring the future of sports and entertainment to South Philly with this next-generation arena. Designed to transform the fan experience for decades to come, this venue will feature cutting-edge amenities for athletes, performers and visitors alike – setting a new standard in large-scale venue design and construction. From Sixers and Flyers games to concerts and more, this project reflects the best of what’s possible when vision, innovation and Philadelphia’s world-class skilled workforce come together. Together, we’re bringing bold vision to life, one that will truly reflect and represent the heart, spirit and pride of Philadelphia.”

With over 50 years of stadium and arena experience, and 20 years working together, Turner Construction and AECOM Hunt’s joint venture ensure established leaders in the construction of cutting-edge sports facilities oversee the construction of this project.

This adds to Turner and AECOM Hunt’s Philadelphia portfolio, which includes Lincoln Financial Field, FMC Tower, One uCity Square and the upcoming Chubb Center. Nationally, their sports resume includes Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome, Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, New York’s Barclays Center, and the under construction Nissan Stadium in Tennessee.
