Roig Arena hosts its first internal event with 10,000 guests

10,000 people attended the first major trial run of the Roig Arena, an internal event that featured a concert by Seguridad Social and a performance by singer Sandra Valero on July 29th.

The event served as a full-scale rehearsal to test the proper functioning of all operational areas of the venue: from ticketing systems, access control and security, to food services, maintenance, technology and production.

Attendees experienced firsthand what it will be like to enjoy a real event at Valencia’s future multipurpose venue, which represents an investment of over 300 million euros, fully financed with the personal assets of Juan Roig.

Guests were able to enjoy the performances both from the stands and the arena floor, as well as access parking and sample the culinary offerings at the El Mercat and Ultramarinos Roig food areas.

During the evening, the venue’s large screens were lit up for the first time: the impressive 76-metre-long videowall, Europe’s highest-resolution central scoreboard and the full circular ribbon screen surrounding the seating area.

The 2025 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition is being held at Villa Park on October 6-7th. An Opening Night Icebreaker at bp pulse Live or Utilita Arena will kick things off on October 5th and the SVB LIVE Awards will close the event on October 7th at the home of BCFC. The stellar speaker lineup features high-level execs from entities including Pacers Sports & Entertainment, Arsenal, CAA ICON, Co-op Live, NEC Group and Valencia CF.

Among the audience were mostly employees from Mercadona and the various initiatives under Juan Roig’s Legacy project, as well as representatives from companies involved in the construction of Roig Arena, local residents, and members of various institutions and technical services.

The official opening of the arena is scheduled for early September 2025. Roig Arena will host all kinds of sporting, cultural, musical and corporate events, establishing Valencia as a leading destination for large-scale national and international events.

Led by LICAMPA 1617, an enterprise founded by Spanish entrepreneur Juan Roig, the Roig Arena has been designed in collaboration between global architecture firm HOK and local practice ERRE Arquitectura.

The Roig Arena will serve as the home base for both the men’s and women’s Valencia Basket Club teams. With a seating capacity of 15,600 that expands to 18,600 with standing room, the arena will offer an unparalleled spectator experience. Premium hospitality options and a flexible, intimate seating layout further elevate the venue.
