Como 1907, in collaboration with the Municipality of Como and leading architectural firm Populous, has announced the initial plans for the redevelopment of Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
The first stage of the procedural process is the submission and approval of the Document of Feasibility of Project Alternatives (DOCFAP).
The expected timeline for the redevelopment is as follows:
Como 1907 and the Municipality are committed to an open and transparent process and have engaged with and will continue to engage with fans and local residents throughout the development.
All current renderings displayed at the press conference are concept images and not necessarily representative of the final design. The final design will be presented following the completion of the first phase.
Como 1907 President, Mirwan Suwarso, commented:
“Our aim is to ensure Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia remains a vital part of the community. The new project must honour the Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium legacy while making it an active and accessible space for all citizens and visitors—not just for football, but for everyone to enjoy, 365 days a year.”

SVB LIVE events focus on elevating the live experience through Architecture & Design, Customer Journey, Fan & VIP Experience, Hospitality, Interiors & Fit-Out, Premium Sales & Service, Sustainability, Technology and Venue Commercialisation. Declan Sharkey, Global Director & Senior Principal at Populous, was a speaker at the 2024 SVB LIVE Conference & Exhibition.
Alessandro Rapinese, Mayor of Como, said:
“This is the first phase of the process. This stadium is not just for football, but a gift for the entire community. I look forward to the various phases and to being able to enjoy Como 1907 play inside the new G. Sinigaglia.”
Silvia Prandelli, GM of Populous Italia, commented:
“We are privileged to be involved in the redesign of the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. We look forward to working with Como 1907 and the Municipality of Como to bring the vision to life for the redevelopment of the stadium and how it will integrate with the local community.”
