In this latest interview, Adam Goodyer, CEO, Realife Tech, discusses the use of technology for the Joshua v Pulev boxing match at The SSE Arena, Wembley and the results of going fully contactless for fans.
Back in December 2020, Anthony Joshua and Kulbrat Pulev fought for the Heavyweight Boxing Championship in front of 1,000 socially distanced fans at The SSE Arena, Wembley; a venue ALSD International attendees are familiar with, having benefitted from a behind the scenes technical tour during the inaugural event back in 2018.
In this video interview, Adam Goodyer, CEO of Realife Tech, discusses how the venue was able to operate a safe event using mobile ticketing and contactless mobile ordering, which resulted in a 25% increase in spend per head.
Return to ‘live’
Adam speaks about how, in order to return to live events, venue operators are working with governments, local authorities and their entertainment and sports partners to ensure that they can get the industry moving again, and generate revenue while keeping fans and entertainers healthy and safe.
With new technology, from health passports, contactless ticketing and concessions, to location services, all being analysed and deployed, Adam highlights how COVID has accelerated Realife Tech’s operations and what venues are prioritising when it comes to restoring visitor confidence.
Going fully contactless
In addition, he details the opportunities sports and entertainment venues and events can benefit from by going fully contactless, as well as what new revenue streams he sees developing through the adoption of mobile ticketing.
Finally, Adam touches on how venues are revamping their communication plans across the entire fan experience, in addition to how teams and venues are managing social distancing/density controls before, during and after events to optimise fan confidence in returning.
