Lancashire Cricket confirmed today that Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has signed a new five-year extension of the Club’s Vitality Blast shirt, until 2023.
The extension of the partnership is now in line with the multi-year stadium naming rights contract that Emirates has with the Club, making it the biggest sponsorship in domestic cricket in the UK.
The new agreement means that Emirates’ shirt sponsorship of Lancashire Lightning, coupled with the Emirates Old Trafford naming rights, is one of the longest running and most successful partnerships in cricket.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Lancashire Cricket Club, said:
We are thrilled to announce that Emirates has extended its sponsorship as the Club’s Vitality Blast shirt sponsor. This positions the Emirates’ sponsorship at Lancashire as one of the longest and most recognisable in the game.
We’re hugely proud of our long term relationship, which commenced in 2013, and this announcement, with a world-leading brand who believe in the same way of working as us, will see customer and fan focused activations, as well as being another positive step as part of the Club’s continued commercial growth and development.
Emirates’ five year extension sees Lancashire Cricket and its Vitality Blast shirt sponsorship continue its presence as part of the airline’s prestigious family of sporting partnerships including Real Madrid, AC Milan, Arsenal, Emirates FA Cup, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), 2019 Rugby World Cup Japan, Formula 1, global golf tournaments and others in Australian Rules Football, tennis and horse racing.
Richard Jewsbury, Emirates’ Divisional Vice President, United Kingdom, added:
We are delighted to extend our partnership with Lancashire Cricket Club to 2023. Emirates is a long-time supporter of cricket, with a well-established presence and longstanding commitment to the sport both internationally and domestically. Cricket is a sport that unifies fans around the world, and Emirates helps connect those fans with their passions. We look forward to another successful five years with the Club.
The extended partnership follows Lancashire Cricket’s recent announcement of the Club’s operating profit of £2,347,000 for the year ended 31 December 2017, which represented an increase of 92% on the previous year.
