JOB OF THE WEEK: Spectator Services Workforce Manager at Glasgow 2018 European Championships

The Glasgow 2018 European Championships is a new multi-sport event which will be held in Glasgow and Berlin in the summer of 2018. More than 8,000 athletes, officials and media are expected in Glasgow and Scotland with a potential television audience of more than one billion.

Spectator Services will be known as the ‘face of the Championships’.  The Spectator Services workstream will be responsible for showcasing the famous Glasgow welcome to all spectators attending the Championships across our 15 venues instilling and inspiring memories. The volunteer workforce of Spectator Services will play an integral role in the successful delivery of the workstream.

Reporting to the Spectator Services Manager, the Spectator Services Workforce Manager will be responsible for ensuring all Spectator Services volunteers are well supported and experience an informative and positive journey during the planning and delivery phases of the Championships.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the inaugural edition of this exciting event as it makes its world sporting calendar debut.

The successful candidate must be able to commit to evening and weekend working shortly before, and during, the Championships. Tight restrictions on annual leave will also be necessary in the summer of 2018.

The successful candidate will be based at Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow.

This is a fixed term opportunity up to August 2018.
