University of Florida (UF) and ANC announced January 4, 2017, the installation of a new centre-hung display for the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The install was part of UF’s larger renovation and expansion plans, which debuted at the Men’s Basketball game against Little Rock on December 21st, 2016.
The new centre-hung structure will include four main video displays measuring 10.08’ high by 17.7’ wide. Four corner board displays measuring 4.72’ high by 22.05’ wide will be utilised for scoring and statistics. The centre-hung display will also feature a lower LED ring measuring 1.57’ high by 56.69’ wide, which will offer sponsors the opportunity to be seen by over 11,000-plus attendees each game. The arena is also equipped with 24’ and 40’ 10mm LED courtside signage, which will be utilised for sponsorship and game content.
Scott Stricklin, Director of Athletics, University of Florida, said:
The University of Florida is dedicated to offering Gator Nation the best experience in collegiate sports. We are proud to partner with ANC, who has helped us bring the technology and innovation within Exactech Arena at the Stephen O’Connell Center to the next level.
ANC’s award-winning operating system vSOFT will be used to manage content on the new centre-hung display. The advanced media playback system manages multiple streams without scaling content, displaying visuals in high resolution and colour depths. ANC’s creative services team will also create content for the displays, including sponsor graphics, team animations and statistical layouts.
Jerry Cifarelli, Vice President of Collegiate Sales, ANC, said:
We are excited to work with the University of Florida to create the best viewing experience in all of college athletics. Incorporating our industry-leading technology and services will help develop an immersive and dynamic game day viewing experience for students, alumni and fans.
About the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center
Exactech and the University of Florida (UF) expanded their long-standing partnership through the naming of the Exactech Arena at UF’s Stephen C. O’Connell Center; an iconic sports and entertainment complex on UF’s campus. The newly-transformed arena is home to championship athletic teams including Florida Gators basketball, gymnastics and volleyball. The venue also hosts many other sporting, entertainment, academic and business activities. The naming rights sponsorship reflects the deeply rooted relationship between two Gainesville, Florida-based organisations, with the shared goals of education, innovation and health care. This sponsorship was instrumental in helping UF complete the ambitious US$64.5m renovation of the facility, which opened December 21, 2016.
