Mecco, the premium event catering business of One Event Management, returned to cater the player, tennis family and sponsor hospitality areas at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. Taking place at The O2 London, November 13-20, the tournament drew the world’s top eight singles players and doubles teams in the year-end climax to the men’s professional tennis season.
Mecco, in partnership with the ATP, designed seasonal menus to meet the players’ exacting dietary requirements, as well as creating menus across the various hospitality areas. Over the week-long event, more than 6,000 hospitality guests enjoyed menus reflecting the autumn harvest with dishes including wild sea bass with shellfish velouté and crispy spinach and roasted squash arancini with hazelnut pesto.
A longstanding catering partner with tennis, Mecco already caters The Aegon Championships along with a roster of other global sporting headline events with partners including Lord’s, The Home of Cricket; and The Ryder Cup. Mecco is part of One Event Management group whose ethos is entrepreneurialism in the business of food and entertaining.
Jeremy Wood, Chairman of Mecco said:
We love the fast pace of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and being in such a landmark venue adds to the excitement. Working with the ATP is an utter pleasure as they have very much innovated the tennis scene. We too thrive on change and we bounce off their constant ingenuity, as it means that we can also develop and excite through the guest and player entertaining.
Adam Hogg, Event Director of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, said:
We are thrilled to be working with Mecco once again. They provide a first-class offering that meets the needs of our players, our sponsors and our tournament guests. It is a joy to work with a company that embraces the requirements of the tournament and ensures premium delivery of a world-class catering operation.
